A Day On The Green for Ronald McDonald House Charity

During the most difficult times in their lives, Ronald McDonald House Charity gives seriously ill children the best gift of all – their families.

Since the first Ronald McDonald House opened in Australia in 1981, RMHC has hosted over 2.9 million nightly guests. There are currently 16 Houses in Australia, which provide families with a home-away-from-home while their child undergoes treatment for serious illness or injury at a nearby hospital.

Ambrose Construct Group was proud to be major sponsor for the 19th Annual Ronald McDonald House Charity Golf day, held at Rowes Bay Golf Course in Townsville on October 11th, 2019. The event saw a record-breaking 27 teams in attendance and over $30,000 raised, which will provide 194 nightly stays for families in need.

Managing Director Brett Ambrose, along with 7 local Ambrose Construct Group Supervisors swapped their tool belts for golf clubs and showed their support for the event. “At Ambrose Construct Group, we like to give back to the community,” said Supervisor Richy Du Mont.

Funds raised through this years’ event will contribute to RMHC’s goal of funding 10,000 family nights this year across the House, Family Retreat and Family Room. In addition, the Ronald McDonald Learning Program helps children catch up on missed schooling due to serious illness by providing access to free tutoring with a qualified teacher.

Townsville suffered a huge blow with the floods in early 2019 and Ambrose Construct Group has been at the forefront of the rebuild. The Charity Golf Day brought smiles to the faces of locals and gave hope to those in need. It was our pleasure to support the worthy cause.

How did our team go on the green? Let’s just say our specialty is definitely Insurance Repairs, not golf…
