In QLD, NSW and ACT engineered stone benchtops are now allowed to be removed and reinstated with minor modification provided they are reinstated in their original location. Examples of permitted removal and reinstallation include:
In QLD and WA, all workers going into a roof space need to switch off the power at the main switchboard before anyone enters the roof space. You don’t need to be an electrician to turn off the power. It may not be reasonably practicable to carry out the work or entry while the electrical installation is de-energised because there is a solar panel installed in the roof with an energised supply cable running through the roof. In this instance (or similar) additional documentation is required. Click on the button below for further information.
All States and Territories throughout Australia have implemented tougher requirements when working with crystalline silica substances (i.e. bricks, tiles, concrete etc). When using a power tool on a crystalline silica substance, workers are required to have additional controls to minimise or eliminate the dust generated. These controls include using on-tool dust extraction for power tools, M or H class vacuum attached to the power, water suppression and workers wearing respiratory protective equipment.
